Caravan Security Considerations

Caravan security should be given some thought as when you are travelling around in your touring caravan you will have many personal belongings with you and the same would apply to a static caravan. You would want to ensure that you had enough cover if in the worst case scenario happened and you were the victim of theft. When taking out insurance the safer your caravan is then the cheaper you would get your caravan insurance.

When considering caravan security you can pay out for additional locks and this will go towards ensuring that you make savings. You could also ensure that you caravan is kept under lock and key when not in use or at the very least parked on a driveway under security lighting. If you are parking your caravan on a static site then a secure site would help you to keep down the cost of your insurance. You could be better off choosing a site that had security and which was surrounded by security fencing which was locked.

You would also have to give some thought to caravan security while you are towing your caravan. If you stop at a roadside service station and leave your caravan in the car park then it is possible that you could become the victim of theft and have your caravan unhitched from your car. You could therefore install a hitchlock which would make it impossible for a thief to take your caravan this way.
