Defend your caravan this winter – combat that damp and mould!

With the chilly and wet weather setting in fast this winter, remember to keep check on how your caravan is faring in the cold or else an ambush of mould and damp may await you in the coming season. Take care to follow the tips below to help ensure your caravan stays as damp-free and dry as you this winter!

• It sounds obvious but clean, clean and clean some more. Using an anti-bacterial cleaner or bicarbonate of soda on your kitchen is the most simple and effective way to help prevent a build up of mould.

• If covering your caravan over the winter months, ensure the covering you use is of a breathable material. Many cheap covers available on the market may cause your caravan to sweat, therefore investing in a good quality cover that allows any moisture to escape, is essential in helping prevent ensuing damp.

• Ensure that all your windows and doors are closed (and locked) but do not block up any vents as without air circulation the air inside will become stale and thus more likely to encourage any damp problems.

TOP TIP: Leave a few dehumidifiers around your caravan as this will help assist in tackling any damp.
