It’s not just what’s on the inside that counts but the outside too!
When looking after your caravan this winter it is just as important to look after the exterior as well as the interior. Ensure your caravan’s exterior stays remains in tiptop condition by following the advice below:
• Wash and polish the exterior of your caravan using a quality caravan cleaner and once dry use a coat of overwintering fluid. This will give your caravan extra protection against a build up of grime over the winter months, making your life that much easier when it comes to that spring clean.
• If you can, fit a pair of winter wheels – preferably locking ones for that extra security measure. This will help stop damage to your tyres from where your caravan will be standing in one place for an extended period of time.
• Lock up and secure your campervan. Oil any moving parts and leave the handbrake off to stop the drums sticking. Ideally check monthly that your caravan is still secure and for any signs of ensuing damp or mould and keep your leisure battery charge topped up.
TOP TIP: If you do venture out in icy conditions, ensure that after your journey you wash and brush down the chassis to clear off any corrosive road salt.
