Securing a static caravan

One of the main factors that are taken into account when you have a static caravan and you are looking for insurance is how secure your static caravan is. The more security then the harder it would be for your caravan to become a target to thieves and so the cheaper you might be able to get your insurance. With this in mind thought has to be given when securing a static caravan on site.

When choosing your site for your caravan you should check out several before choosing which to eventually site your pride and joy on. One of the things to look for is how secure the site is? Does it have a wall and fencing around it for instance and if so is the gate locked after a certain time at night? If it is then this will deter potential thieves from walking onto the site with intentions of doing damage. Also check to find out if the site has security lighting on site that comes on at night. All of these would go towards your caravan being more secure than if the site was open and anyone could walk in and it was dark.

Another thing to give some thought to when securing a static caravan is the situation of the plot where you are going to site your caravan. Is the site in an area that is prone to flooding and if so is it situated at the bottom of a slope of hill? If it is then the risk of flooding would be higher and so would the money premiums for your caravan insurance.
