Static Caravan Maintenance

As your static caravan is your pride and joy you should do all you can to ensure that it is looked after so that it will provide you with many years of enjoyment. Here are 5 tips for static caravan maintenance that would go a long way towards ensuring you get the most out of your caravan.

  • When winter arrives and you will no longer be staying in your caravan then you will want to close up the caravan. This means that you should go over the caravan from top to bottom to ensure that you leave it clean and in good order. This means that you should pay special attention to the fridge and clean it out, remove any food and leave the fridge door open so that it does not go stale.
  • Give the outer shell of your static caravan a once over to make sure that any grime and dirt is removed despite the fact that it will build up again during the winter months
  • Check the anchorage to ensure that it is safe and will hold during any harsh winter. Make sure there is no rust accumulation and that it is secure and clean away any vegetation such as leaves from under the caravan
  • Before locking up the caravan you should take a good look at the windows of your caravan to ensure that they are in good order. Check for looseness which could mean the window needs replacing. Finally make sure you lock the widows securely and if you have window alarms make sure you set them
  • The last of the 5 tips for static caravan maintenance is to make sure you clean the water tank and add anti-freeze to the whole of the system to ensure that you would not be vulnerable to breakage of pipes
