Static Insurance Risks
A static caravan can be the perfect holiday home, being cheaper than a traditional home but still coming with all the creature comforts that you need. Many are situated in stunning parks in beautiful areas of the country, and if you’re thinking of investing it’s important to get adequate insurance in place. But, as with any type of insurance there will always be a few risks that you need to be aware of, so just what are the static insurance risks that you need to bear in mind?
Given the placement of many static caravans, it’s important to remember the geographical or natural threats that could occur. Flooding is common in some areas and if you choose a caravan park that suffers from it you could find it incredibly difficult to get insurance, but make sure to think about other things like the risk of falling trees and potential frost damage over the winter months – your static caravan will be a permanent fixture on a campsite so it won’t be easy to move it should any of these threats occur, so your insurance policy needs to be fully comprehensive to account for these risks.
Then you need to think about contents cover and accidental damage cover to fully protect your possessions, because given the expense of many items kept on caravans these days there’s always the risk of theft, vandalism or other damage occurring. Not all companies will be able to offer such cover and in some cases your home insurance policy will have everything included, so make sure to do your research and check the small print so you’re fully prepared for any risks that could come your way.
As you can see, there are quite a few static insurance risks that you need to think about before you take the plunge. Always make sure that your policy gives you as much protection as possible so you can leave your caravan without having to worry, and you can be safe in the knowledge that everything is under control.
