Trailer Tent Mildew

One of the best ways of avoiding trailer tent mildew is to ensure that your trailer tent is stored away completely dry. However the weather in the UK can be very unpredictable and nine times out of ten during times when it is supposed to be hot and sunny, it rains. If you have to pack up your trailer tent during wet weather or before the canvas has had time to dry out you should ensure that as soon as you arrive at your destination you unpack your trailer tent and allow it dry thoroughly.

It you have mildew on the canvas of your trailer tent then you might find that everything you try had no effect or at least very little. There are commercial products that you could buy whose sole job is to remove mildew and mould off canvas and similar materials but you can also try other solutions. There are home remedies that have been passed down through generations and one of these could do the trick of cleaning your trailer tent mildew.

One of these remedies is to wash the affected area with 2 cups of bleach to a 5 gallon bucket of water. However if you choose to go with this remedy then you do have to take great care to ensure that you only wash the area that s affected by the mildew. You also need to be aware that your tent would leak in the area that has been affected by the mildew. This will happen regardless of how you treat the area or even if you do treat it. One of the best solutions to avoid having this problem is to not get mildew on your trailer tent to begin with. Mildew can cause a great deal of problems, not leat of which is causing you to claim on your trailer tent insurance policy, so avoid it at all costs.
