UK Park Homes
UK park homes are one way of owning your own home in the shape of a caravan. However many people often call park homes mobile homes which in fact they are not as they are a fixed permanent residence. Mobile homes are in fact such as a motorhome or an RV.
When considering the insurance for your park home it would be no good looking for and comparing motorhome insurance as this would provide the wrong type of insurance. For instance as your park home is not mobile you would not want protection for travelling around Europe for instance, which can often be found in touring caravan insurance and which would be needed if you planned on travelling outside of the UK. You would have to have liability cover and you should check to find out if the provider extended the policy to any patio, decking or fencing around your park home.
There are some similarities with motorhome insurance and with UK park homes insurance. For instance you would want to ensure that the belongings in the park home were covered in the policy. As you live year round in your park home you would have some considerable value in possessions in your home. For instance you would have to ensure that your electrical equipment such as your TV, DVD recorder and computer were included in the policy just as you would when taking out insurance for a mobile home. However in general the two policies do not cover the same things.
